Here are photos from the World premiere screening of Planet Hulk I went to tonight with friend James rodriguez. The animation was tight. Well done and held nothing back. If you like gore, blood, violance and lots of Hulk Smash, this is your film. If you read planet Hulk, you won’t be dissappointed by this film.
A mixture of 2D and 3D art provided just the right ingredients for a fun and entertaining animation. A must have to your collection. Check out the podcast with interviews from the press pit with Author Greg Pak, Editor in Chief Joe Quesada, Marvel Animation President Eric Rollman and WWE super star Matt Striker, only on Catch Da Craze. Interviews will be up Friday evening. For now enjoy some of the photos from the event.

San Diego Comic-con wrap up Doodie style

Posted on July 30, 2009 (Da Craze)

Wow! What can I say. This is the first time I felt really accomplished at comic con international. The advertisements really helped to drive traffic to my table. I chose not to go to after parties this year so that I could work on commissions at the hotel. That decision really paid off.

I loved my spot in small press this year and really felt I had the right display with the hovering ufo and the full size model of Doodie coming out of the toilet. I can’t tell you how many people took pictures of it.

Hooked up with non sports card retailers for my trading cards and a magazine rep as well. Stay tuned on There’s an Alien in my Toilet collectors card news to come.

This is also the first year I was not in the news but it did not deter Execs, who were seeking new properties, from taking notice. I connected with some really key players in the film and multimedia industry. I learned a lot about what attracts the consumer. Specific age groups that my property appeals to and what properties don’t work.

I left San Diego feeling accomplished and successful. I was pleased with the sales results of There’s an Alien in my Toilet and Doodies Adventures. The trading cards sold well as did Scary Aerie, Mandie Pandie, the adventures of Cosmic Gorf and my newest property “Arrghh!”. The oogoolie boogoolies was not so successful which caused me to rethink its packaging and art.

At the end of the day, I made new friends and hooked up with old ones. Doodie did his job and represented for Uranus and the people of Earth embraced him with open arms. Success!
Commissions was big and I did plenty. Overall, the event was a success and now I begin my follow-up with every contact I made at the show. The corporate moguls can have their gimmicks, celebrities and flashy booths. At the end of the day, consumers want substance. So while the glitz and glamor of will satisfy your craving like a chocolate mocha frappuccino, the indy market will fill you up like a four course meal. After all, we do it out of love and it shows.

First day at Comic-Con

Posted on July 22, 2009 (Da Craze)

Arrived in San Diego and checked iin. Most of my packages were already here. Picked up badges at convention center. Met up with Jose and Daphne of dreamweaver press. So far so good. My books look good. Went to hotel and met up with Jorge Medina of MAS media and photographer Rich Buxo. Had dinner and went back to hotel to work on comissions.
